Triops Longicaudatus Tadpole Shrimp Starter Kit Ultra

Triops Longicaudatus are the most famous Triops-species on the world today. If someone has already seen a Triops, the Tadpole Shrimp with a shell, then you can be 99% sure it was a Triops Longicaudatus. Originally from America, these Triops are athletic swimmers as well as skillful at digging in the sand. With this Triops-species it will not get boring in your aquarium. The T. Longicaudatus likes temperatures of 24-28 ° Celsius best. As a consequence of the warm temperatures, Longicaudatus grow a bit faster than other Triops-species.

Morphologically unchanged ever since, the Triops Longicaudatus are characterized by a long tail and a silvery shimmering shell. They can reach a realistic size of 5 to 7 cm and a lifespan of two to three months. Due to this comparably low life expectancy, Tadpole Shrimp are very well suited as a first pet for children and teenagers likewise. They can prove for the first time that they can take care of animals responsibly.

After two weeks already, will Triops Longicaudatus reach sexual maturity and from that date onwards, they are able to produce Triops-eggs and release them into the sand. How to prepare for another rearing approach with new Triops nauplii from these buried Triops-eggs, can be found here: how to properly prepare Triops-eggs

In our Triops Longicaudatus Starter Kit Ultra you receive all soft components which you need for successful Triops breeding. Of course you will still need a breeding tank and possibly a heating source such as a heater element, or a heating pad for smaller bowls. In addition, you should use a lamp, because daylight as light source is mostly sufficient only in the summer but is a necessity for a successful hatching of Triops nauplii.

In this set, you will receive the Triops Longicaudatus eggs in an egg-sand mixture, two grams of the finest 100% Spirulina algae powder which serves as feed for the first two weeks. As food from two weeks onwards, we provide you with the rearing food and a Cichlids granulate. To improve the water quality in your breeding tank you get a water treatment in the form of a tea bag containing leaves of the tropical almond tree. Those release positive substances into the water. Of course, there is also a step by step guide included in this kit, in order for you to succeed at breeding many Triops Longicaudatus.
