Description

Triops Longicaudatus Tadpole Shrimp Breeding approach mix

The Triops Longicaudatus is also known as the American-type of Tadpole Shrimp with shells. They are characterized by a very their fast growth and their very agile swimming. Within two weeks after hatching, the Longicaudatus is sexually mature and already able to release Triops-eggs by burying them in the sand. He needs a temperature range of approximately 24th °C. Longicaudatus have a gray shimmering shell and a very long tail fin.

You may breed this Triops-species either in distilled or in creek water. We recommend the use of creek water because it already contains microorganisms which facilitate the survival of the nauplii (larvae) during their first few days. In principal, however, a Triops breeding approach is also possible with regular tap water or rainwater.

These are very suitable as first pets for children when they are to assume responsibility for an animal for the first time. Due to the low life expectancy of 2 to 3 months there will be no strong bonding. Moreover, you have the possibility of using the Triops-eggs which have beein laid during their short life, in order to another breeding attempt. The Triops Longicaudatus is considered a very fast growing Tadpole Shrimp. The rapid growth guarantees that you will never get bored.

The Triops Longicaudatus is a real enrichment to any child's room and a fascinating journey into the past. Fun for the whole family.
